Anne Frank

I saw her writing in the annex
Believe me, holding a brook
Streaming words fluttering alive
        Flowing towards futurity
I saw her making little knick- knacks
Trust me, with flaming light
Luminous trifles emitting love
      Waving towards eternity
Bergen-Belsen concentration camp
With all its attempt to put her out
Utterly failed but could not help
    Transporting her to immortality

  1. Though much of the time she worked in the dark and lived the darkest of dark, her words have found the light of day and will live forever!

    A moving poem here.

  5. Sumana,

Having visted the Anne Frank house in Amsterdam; then I could connect well with your words and with the subject...Seeing those little knick-knacks and her actual diary, impacted upon me greatly...

  9. Transporting to immorality. Anne is immortalised but the sufferings and pain she had to undergo in the basement is indeed sad.
