FUTURE SAILORS
Future sailors
Blinking, Flashing
On god forsaken land
All electronic castaways
Robot starfish gather one by one
They have received signal
And manage at last a huge workhorse
To rescue these greenhorns
Future sailors flash a smile
And feel connected
But Nylon Admiral and cyborg sea-dog
Cast their grouchy glance
On the once digital stowaways
Without a flash they curtly sail away
And disappear into the mist for ever
Leaving them behind
they curtly sail away
ReplyDeleteAnd disappear into the mist for ever
Leaving them behind
Oh, coldhearted - them be pirates.
thanks Debi for the visit........enjoyed your words :D
DeleteI agree with Debi...I definitely felt them to be pirates. "Leaving them behind" is so sad.

thanks Kay for the nice comment........
DeleteI really like the sense of adventure gone awry which you captured here, and the of the narrative was top notch. I imagined some sort lumbering space ark...how fantastic! Thanks for posting to the Out of Standard
ReplyDeleteThank you Isadora for the lovely comments......
DeleteThey would have "grouchy glances," it seems...this was fun and imaginative. :)

ReplyDeletethanks for the visit and sharing your thoughts.
DeleteThere's something ominous about this with greenhorns marooned in a godforsaken land awaiting rescue only to have a grouchy admiral leave them behind. Yikes!
ReplyDeleteThanks you for sharing your thoughts....
ReplyDeleteoh, what a tale this is... left behind. Perhaps that is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteNasty Nylon Admiral and cyborg sea-dog! Sad for the future sailors left behind...
