ALONE

Words fizzing in unceasing flow

Never lets me alone

Only once in a cool hillside

Those sticky foams were gone

Waves stilled

Inert mind was peace filled

World shone

In an unearthly light

Though for a few seconds that glow

Numbed the words and their might

 

Posed for the prompt Alone @ Poetry Jam

 

 I tried to follow the rhyme scheme of Robert Herrick Stanza

    Being alone allows to search within us to find the peace we so often seek outside and which other people make it hard to find. Lovely poem!

    Beautiful. I love the way it is written. It's true that words can sometimes be annoying and not leave us a single moment of peace of mind... Those moments are like shooting stars and have to be seized when they happen. I'm glad you shared this wonderful poem! I really enjoyed reading it.
