ALONE
courtesy google image

Words fizzing in unceasing flow

Never lets me alone

Only once in a cool hillside

Those sticky foams were gone

Waves stilled

Inert mind was peace filled

World shone

In an unearthly light

Though for a few seconds that glow

Numbed the words and their might

Posed for the prompt Alone @ Poetry Jam

I tried to follow the rhyme scheme of Robert Herrick Stanza

  1. Words can be intrusive and relentless. I like how your mind seems to have found peace, if only for a precious moment.

  3. It is always good when one's inert mind can be filled with peace. Those moments bring bliss. I really like your use of form, Sumana. Not easy.

  14. Beautiful. I love the way it is written. It's true that words can sometimes be annoying and not leave us a single moment of peace of mind... Those moments are like shooting stars and have to be seized when they happen. I'm glad you shared this wonderful poem! I really enjoyed reading it.

  16. Often, words do much measure up to the awesomeness of nature. However, a mind at peace can soak in the glory even more.
    Nice write. :-)
