ALONE

Words fizzing in unceasing flow
Never lets me alone
Only once in a cool hillside
Those sticky foams were gone
Waves stilled
Inert mind was peace filled
World shone
In an unearthly light
Though for a few seconds that glow
Numbed the words and their might

Words can be intrusive and relentless. I like how your mind seems to have found peace, if only for a precious moment.
ReplyDeletesometimes that peace can be so fleeting...those moments though can be such a relief....words can def be a powerful force...
ReplyDeleteIt is always good when one's inert mind can be filled with peace. Those moments bring bliss. I really like your use of form, Sumana. Not easy.

ReplyDeleteBeing alone allows to search within us to find the peace we so often seek outside and which other people make it hard to find. Lovely poem!
ReplyDeleteWords give - but they can also take away. Beautifully written - and skillfully executed as to the form you've taken on. Well done!

Finding peace gives peace. I enjoyed reading it. Nicely written with great meanings.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. I love the way it is written. It's true that words can sometimes be annoying and not leave us a single moment of peace of mind... Those moments are like shooting stars and have to be seized when they happen. I'm glad you shared this wonderful poem! I really enjoyed reading it.
ReplyDeleteGood use of the form!
ReplyDeleteWow Sumana that was amazing. So true that peace comes to inert minds - great wisdom there.
ReplyDeleteOften, words do much measure up to the awesomeness of nature. However, a mind at peace can soak in the glory even more.
ReplyDeleteNice write. :-)
