Night

source

Din and bustle sinks

Beyond the horizon

Rest alights

In her dusky wings

My bleeding heart

Becomes the dark sky

My thoughts of you

Twinkle

All night

  1. I like the idea of thinking of the stars as 'twinkling thoughts.'
May those twinkling thoughts be good memories of pleasant moments.

    In her dusky wings"
Without her the memories can consume. We need some distance from each sun. How totally alive!

  20. Sumana,

As a child I often thought that the stars were a connection with our loved ones, who had passed away. That childish notion still draws me to that conclusion today. I loved this poem Sumana and appreciate the thoughts you may have had too when writing it..A profound sentiment.

  26. Oh, Sumana, the poem starts off so softly and with such a wonderful feeling of repose, but the melancholy of the second half really touches the heart. I certainly hope those twinkling stars provide some comfort.
