Travel

Some people are crazy

Bitten by the wander-lust bug

They would vie for

Looking at the same sun

Same moon and the same blue sky

To carve out a new meaning

They would risk their life

On the moon soil

Scratch their head

If they could have a mermaid dance

In the Mariana Trench

In the pacific

And some would delve deep

Into their soul

Listening to the song

Of consciousness

Entreating them

To open their eyes

To the cosmic dance

In their whole being

Through countless births

We all live for this craziness

Because this is life

  2. Dancing with dolphins - pure joy - maybe dreaming of travel is the most important

  3. that's what travel does - it kicks us out of that sameness that can become a prison for our thoughts and actions.

  4. Isn't it true, Sumana! Part of being human is desiring to see other places besides our own. Some desire and need more adventure than others, but everyone yearns to see somewhere else!

  5. Travelling opens our eyes, even if its the same sun, moon or sky ~ Sometimes the cosmic dance sounds different when you are in another country and time zone ~ That's the craziness of life, smiles ~

  6. And sometimes travel becomes a competitive sport and we see places only through our cameras or iPhones instead of just letting it fill our souls. Interesting and thought-provoking take on the prompt!

  7. There are indeed different ways to travel. Some see it as a competition while others are more ready to open their souls.

  8. Same moon, sky, etc. but if one doesn't
    "And some would delve deep
    Into their soul
    Listening to the song
    Of consciousness"

then I'm not sure what good travel does.

  9. Your last stanza brought clarion focus.../entreating them to pen their eyes/to the cosmic dance/in their whole being/through countless births/ for yes, our greatest journeys are always spiritual, always in lesson with each lifetime. Travel on the planet does enrich our perspective, broaden our horizons but it all pales compared to the internal voyages.

  11. So much beauty everywhere to be seen......if we traveled our whole lifetime, we could not see it all.........(this is why I watch nature and travel movies, hee hee).

  14. I must say I think it would be awesome to see the earth from "the moon soil".

  15. I like this, Sumana. How true is it that the best journey we can have is the journey of self-discovery, and one need not travel to exotic places (though that for sure can be quite exciting and educational) to attain the self. :-)
