Graveyards
The leaves are still
Air quiet
Sighs are granite here
Words frozen
Shadows move about
Hearts are empty
A cuckoo’s song fills the void
The pink sun greets a blue star
Sequined night sky looks festive
The sleeping angel
Is in the new home
Of peaceful rest

"Sighs are granite here"... Amazing poetic imagination...
ReplyDeleteNice!
the thought of passing kids crushes me...the little coffins...oy, cant look at them without it busting me up...but perhaps this little one has now found peace...
ReplyDeleteDeath is hard as granite and as quiet as still air, and all those frozen words only memories. The cig kobo sound can only be a reminder of what will never be again. Powerful imagery here, Sumana.
