Flame (A Tanka)
The
Earth is fragrant
Spring alights on Palash* flame
Colors
in all hearts
The blue above showers light
A lone cuckoo’s tireless cry
*Palash is a beautiful flower that sets the sky ablaze around this time in
the State of West Bengal where I live

ReplyDeleteI like this Sumana. The blossoms remind me of the coral trees we have here. I too was inspired by spring blossoms this week.
ReplyDeleteSumana,
ReplyDeleteYour poem is most welcome into my world right now. Full of colour and alive; enough to brighten up this UK rainy, wind lashed, April weather!!
