SILENT FILMS, SPRING & GOD
Pictures in motion
Grand silence in monochrome
A fountain of joy
Year round spring for music-men
Cuckoo, cardinals in hearts
While divas twinkled
Charlie showered wits and mirth
Mood setter tinting
All religiously loved work
Blooming made each day holy

That's a lovely picture you chose for your poem, Sumana.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing combination of prompts! I see how the film tried to keep us cheerful (with a few major exceptions) and that has become a church of sorts for some who attend religiously. A fine comparison, tightly written! Is it then Holy? The movie theatre, I mean.
ReplyDeleteha i used to love silent films...we watched them on sundays at grammas....i like the line the constant spring of musicians...i think in just playing they often find joy.
ReplyDeleteMovies have come a long way since then, but I think have lost some of the innocence and magic in those early ones.......too much realism, gore and violence.
ReplyDeleteOnce in a while it is fun to watch a silent film and see how far movies have come.... I do like the idea that each day can be holy in its own way.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you hit all three prompts with this one. I had not thought about silent films for a long time--nice work here.
ReplyDeleteI agree, humor helps to make every day worth living.
ReplyDeleteA fountain of joy - this works and gives that emotion of lost memories captured in time, Very Nice.
ReplyDeleteWe can also be the ones who make each day special and holy!
ReplyDeleteA charming write - and a charming image, to boot!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it beautiful that silence can travel through generations...spring is always in it....beautiful

ReplyDeleteIt took my breath away. Smooth as silk...
