SELF-PORTRAIT

I wish
I were
Free
From this mortal cage
Of bone and flesh
Of desire and greed
Of envy and lust
Only to
Glide
On the
Ocean of
Consciousness
Of who I am
Truly
Light
Energy
Purity
Now
Gasping
For a release
Buried under
Layers of mass

smiles.. one day we will be... until then i try to make the best of it and try to trick the cage as often as i can...ha
ReplyDeleteA beautiful thought... I wish for the same... :-)
ReplyDelete-HA
I too dream of being free from this mortal cage ~ That's a lovely wish for a release into light ~
ReplyDeletethere is light in there...sometimes a bit buried under mass
ReplyDeleteand when it is released on that fateful day...then we will know true freedom....
Oh yes, the mortal coil, the burdensome husk is extant, but it is the vehicle we inhabit in order to be in lesson for this chosen lifetime; but the white light remains within, the higher consciousness/self, reminding some of that we are a soul who now has a body, not the other way around.
ReplyDeleteI can feel your desire to break free. Simply put and well expressed!
ReplyDeleteSumana, all these things and more.
ReplyDeletebeautiful and honest.
Oh, I can feel this. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteA wish for all..I suppose.. nicely expressed Sumanadi.. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt takes courage to look at oneself and assign adjectives. You were braver than me.
ReplyDeleteThere is a Zen-like truth to these words of longing for luminescence that I can identify with. I like that the sparse lines contrast with the weighted wishes within the message.
ReplyDeleteI lovely thought - the lightness of a pure heart
ReplyDeleteThe words and images you used caught me up so I began to yearn for the same. Then I returned to me, who loves getting closer and closer to that freedom but wants the full corporeal experience before I leave the cage of materiality.
ReplyDeleteA lovely take on a self-portrait, who we are beneath the surface matters most of all, and your light shines through.
ReplyDeleteThe desire for Better is always a good thing!
ReplyDeleteever wonder why people ask, what's the matter, when' something's amiss? well-penned ~
ReplyDeleteVery well done, and a powerful piece - I must say.
