SELF-PORTRAIT
                                            courtesy : google image

I wish
I were
Free
From this mortal cage
Of bone and flesh
Of desire and greed
Of envy and lust
Only to
Glide
On the
Ocean of
Consciousness
Of who I am
Truly
Light
Energy
Purity
Now
Gasping
For a release
Buried under
Layers of mass

  4. there is light in there...sometimes a bit buried under mass
and when it is released on that fateful day...then we will know true freedom....

  5. Oh yes, the mortal coil, the burdensome husk is extant, but it is the vehicle we inhabit in order to be in lesson for this chosen lifetime; but the white light remains within, the higher consciousness/self, reminding some of that we are a soul who now has a body, not the other way around.

  10. There is a Zen-like truth to these words of longing for luminescence that I can identify with. I like that the sparse lines contrast with the weighted wishes within the message.

  12. The words and images you used caught me up so I began to yearn for the same. Then I returned to me, who loves getting closer and closer to that freedom but wants the full corporeal experience before I leave the cage of materiality.

  13. A lovely take on a self-portrait, who we are beneath the surface matters most of all, and your light shines through.
