     THUS  SPAKE  LOTUS

                           courtesy : google image

Let my soul be enraptured
By the soothing hue
Of petals opening out
Let the bee and butterfly alight
My language is nectar
I desire to proliferate
I long to embrace every water-hole
To whisper, talk, and sing
Of unity in diversity
Before I fade and wither
Let the lotus bloom
Let the fragrance spread

  2. So good to to capture that smell... to live in the fragrance.. I just read Tagore's Lotus, and it is impossible for me not to reflect on this.. it seems almost a comment on his (at least the last two lines)

  7. Ooo...this subject is perfect...I love that you brought the many facets of meaning to the lotus and addressed them directly but didn't specifically or generically name the common traits given to the lotus. Nice approach beautiful writing..."my language is nectar" I love that!

  11. ah lorya flowers - the lotus eaters, their language is nectar too,
languid. Lotus seeds stay viable for a century, so they are bound to proliferate.
    Nice.

  22. I have no idea why I confused your name with Susan's, earlier, but I apologize.
The part about this poem making me feel good was absolutely true, however. I especially like "To whisper, talk, and sing
    Of unity in diversity
    Before I fade and wither"
