The beauty queen
Wears her smile
Like a jewel
As she sashays on the shore
Of many a heart
Among waves of praise
My word group: waves, jewels, shore, queen

There is more sincerity in shyness than in bold exhibitionism.
ReplyDeleteAll a performance perhaps..but I wonder who is the performer and who is being played..The beauty queen or the audience?
ReplyDeleteThere is such sweetness in the smile. Especially worn by the shore, somehow it makes the beauty queen so free.
ReplyDeleteBeauty queens, for sure, are like that, maybe not all but majority of them. I still prefer my beauty queen to be a real one, though. Not overly nor exaggeratedly perfect. Smiles.

the most beautiful woman in the world wears that most beautiful smile.
ReplyDeleteA smile is the most beautiful jewel of all!
ReplyDeleteAh well, let her enjoy it while it lasts! (Smile)
ReplyDeleteWearing her smile like a jewel - love this Sumana ~
ReplyDeletethe shore is the best place to sashay, I think.
ReplyDeleteIndeed! Her smile is a jewel to wear, but hopefully not to store until the next public show.
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of her sashaying on the shore of many a heart.
ReplyDeleteThe jewel is the smile in itself. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteOh Sumana... this is so beautiful! Lovely use of imagery! :D
ReplyDeletehearts and waves of praise make for a good day.
ReplyDeleteEvaporate until you Lenticulate
Oh but that jewel is sometimes just paste or glass....hopefully hers is all glitter.
ReplyDeleteDonna@LivingFromHappiness
I hear much cracking as she passes by. Well told Sumana!
ReplyDeleteA smile, when sincere, can be a shining jewel. If it is fake, then what follows may not be what you hoped for. I loved the imagery that came with this, Sumana. Very well done :)
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how a sparkling smile can exude pure confidence, and win the hearts of others.
ReplyDeleteLovely, Sumana. I really enjoyed this.
Poppy
That was very delightful! :-)

Lovely sketch of a scene that passes quickly.
ReplyDeleteIf she sashays off stage, you know you have a true "beauty queen".

Love the use of the word "shore" and "waves" in this. Lovely tongue-in-cheek "conquering" with her jewel smile.
ReplyDelete:) indeed!!
ReplyDeleteA second 'sashay' yay. It must be hard to keep a perpetual smile.
ReplyDeletegreat job with the word list! i could never have been brave enough to put myself out there like that for everyone to judge!

A smile must be shown even if the kingdom is falling.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind comment on my blog
A smile triggered by praise. I suppose that's a normal reaction, though I prefer a genuine smile triggered by warmth and inner joy.
ReplyDeleteVery clever and beautifully effective metaphor you've woven throughout.
ReplyDeleteYou employed your word group very well to tell the tale.
ReplyDeleteSumana,
ReplyDeleteEnjoying that brief moment of feeling on top of the world, especially if the location is also a place of natural beauty!
Eileen
I could see the scene. Well done.
