Acceptance

Misery

You are also a gift

Of kindness

From God

As it is from Him

I accept you

From the bottom of my heart

  2. Whew. Now that is discipline to view even misery as a blessing, but so true. Even our pain shapes us and I would not do without anything that happened to me to get me here.

  13. Accepting the things I perceive as misery and suffering is so hard for me. It's so hard to surrender to what is, but such a necessary step for deeper spiritual growth. Thank you for this poem Sumana. I know you've had to accept so much. I am humbled before you.

  15. Misery is double-edged. I believe it can destroy some people while others will become stronger. It is even better if it can make you kinder and closer to God.

  17. Sumana,

You are quite right, as there many very strong people, who can accept a heavy weight of suffering or unhappiness, if they have an equally strong faith..Acceptance, with both ease and pain..
