Home of Memories
I have left my heart
In Pahalgam*
Lidder’s**
wild songs
Have stolen my soul
I cached my dreams
In pine forest
On the mountain slope
I let myself
Be Beauty struck
In this fantasy land
Where every drop of life
Is sculpted from Charm
They eddy in the mind
I’ve brought them home
Where I have been living
With memories alone
*a popular tourist destination in Kashmir
**a river in Kashmir

In pine forest'
A delightful poem.

ReplyDeleteLovely memories !
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful and eloquent. I imagine it being recited softly and rhythmically ... as it is haunting. "I have left my heart
ReplyDeleteIn Pahalgam" - what a wistful, emotive beginning.
Memories of places stay with us long after the visit is over. The ocean and the mountains speak to me. Lovely flow of words.
ReplyDeleteYes, like all special things, we keep them at home.
ReplyDeleteMemories of a special place, perhaps made even more beautiful by the people we shared it with can sustain us through our memories, Sumana. Delicate and beautiful write!
