          REVENGE OF GAIA
Revenge of Gaia :  Artist Susie McMahon

Your torso writhes, warps
Blood oozes out from deep wounds
I can’t stare at you

Your abyss-eyes haunt
Drag, pull me into blackness
My eternal damnation

Your heart’s a desert
Yet no oasis I long for
Ah your wrath scorches

Had I ever sung
The notes you crooned while cradling
Your soul wouldn’t be crushed

  13. I still love this poem--I wonder where yesterday's comment went? If I had entered it when I wrote it ... and that is only a weak example of how omission brings us to the brink of hell, and ultimately a place where we do not plea for rescue. Oh, Gaea! Your death is its own revenge. Your poem and the sculpture could have been conceived together.
