A Nursery Rhyme

 

Pitter patter pitter patter

Words dropping without clatter

Parched hearts turning green

Bearing fruits labor seen

Careful nurture……….. time smiles

Prepares grill and thousand eyes

Poesy ready taking wings

Alights on hearts and makes them sing.

As home decor in clay pots

The rest sleeps in books

I saw her writing in the annex

Believe me, holding a brook

Streaming words fluttering alive

        Flowing towards futurity

I saw her making little knick- knacks

Trust me, with flaming light  

Luminous trifles emitting love

      Waving towards eternity

Bergen-Belsen concentration camp

With all its attempt to put her out

Utterly failed but could not help

    Transporting her to immortality
