BICYCLE-THIEVES

poster of the movie Bicycle Thieves courtesy : google image
Two wheels became
Light, camera and sound
Poverty of post-war Italy
Hit the screen
 Untrained non-actors
Wheeled this De Sica Classic
Safely beyond boundary of time

FRIENDS

courtesy : google image
I have a friend
Dwelling inside me
She is sweet
Yet knows
When to be harsh
And hard
I don’t listen to her at all
When she is like that
I almost hate her then
I hear her chuckle
When salt clogs my throat
She is so unkind
Though in the stretched summer days
Or long dark winter nights
She speaks in fragrance
She is a friend in need
I am a shadow of her

I AM

courtesy : d'verse

I am existence
I am in relationship
With the universe
Dusts and the stars
Stare at me
We do feel related
The universe will be non-existent
When I shall cease to be
What lingers
When all is said and done?

Posted for d’Verse where I answered the first question (who are you and whom do you love?) asked by MarinaSofia and included the last question as a part of my poem

A SKY

I am your dream sky
Embracing your
Passions that burn
And dispel darkness
I am with you forever
Settle slowly
Glass may be shattered
Names may be rubbed out
All that is false and clumsy
May always meet with an axe
To be weeded out
Listen to my promise to you
When there is a fall
The hard land will vanish
Only to become petals
To have you ensconced
With soft fragrance

          REVENGE OF GAIA
Revenge of Gaia :  Artist Susie McMahon

Your torso writhes, warps
Blood oozes out from deep wounds
I can’t stare at you

Your abyss-eyes haunt
Drag, pull me into blackness
My eternal damnation

Your heart’s a desert
Yet no oasis I long for
Ah your wrath scorches

Had I ever sung
The notes you crooned while cradling
Your soul wouldn’t be crushed

            A NAIVE PAINTER
                                painting of seraphine louis

The flowers
Who ought to speak
In hue, honey and scent
Have become mute
The bouquet-life
Is so tied up
Cut off from roots
The beauty
Withers fast
The release is
In unsung end

“Why don’t you open your eyes
Before I rise?”
I sat up and saw the speaker
Melting in soft hues of love
Embracing the world
I joined in the Matins
Of the warblers
“Om bhu bhuwarswaha
Tatsavirtu varenyam
Bhargo Devasya dhimahi
Dhiyo yona prachodayat”*

The prayer rose from the sages’ voice of ancient India which is still heard in the murmur of countless lips….
